Traditional
Italian Games
Bocce
is Italian bowling. There are many other variations of bocce throughout
the world (petong in France, bowls in England, etc.).
You can play bocce on a grass surface, but the "official"
tournament rules call for a special court of packed gravel. There
are 3 such courts on Commercial St. in the North End for public
use.
In
Italy, card games are very popular as well.
Many games are played with a special "Napoletane" deck,
which has 40 cards instead of the "American" 52-card deck.
Some popular card games which use the 40-card deck are games are
Scopa, Briscola, and Tre Sette.
Tombola
is the Italian version of Bingo.
